Angels We Have Heard on High

What happens when a dozen four to six-year-old girls are dressed up like angels? What happens when a half dozen little boys are given shepherd's crooks?

Lots of flapping and twirling. Sword fights in the vestibule. Meanwhile some mothers are safety-pinning yards and yards of material around and around several children in an effort to transform them into kings, innkeepers, or more shepherds. All this joyous insanity and excitement for about ten minutes of cuteness and photo-ops. I mean, all this for the Nativity reenactment, a small part of the church choir's "Cookies and Carols" Christmas concert.

Yes there really were cookies afterwards in the parish hall.
