"It's a day when parents give groundhogs to their children as pets."
"DO I get a groundhog?" she asked eagerly.
"No, they bite and scratch. They don't like to be played with," he answered casually.
"Da-ad! [two syllables out of a one syllable word] That's not a good pet!"
I wonder if she told this story at preschool.
