A Rat?

I had Monkey2 in the grocery cart, and Monkey1 was capering around us.

"Is that a rat?" the grocery clerk asked, squinting at the cart.

"No, that's my sister!" shouted Monkey1.

The little furry monster in question was a grubby stuffed animal, a pig with a now-straight tail.
